GRADE 11

A Personal Water Craft (PWC) operator, for craft able to carry no more than 3 persons. For operating a PWC able to carry 4 or more persons, the operator will require a grade 11 and a grade 12 certificate.

GRADE 12

An operator of a launch whose motor’s power output does not exceed 110 kilowatt (which is approximately 150 horse power).
GRADE 12 (LAUNCH) PRACTICAL EXAMINATION

GRADE 13

A motor- launch operator, or the operator of a motor-boat whose length exceeds 8.5 meters, limited to private use within 4 miles of Coastal Waters.

GRADE 20

A passenger-carrying launch operator. He is permitted to operate launches of any output,

GRADE 21

A sailing boat operator, but only within the framework of a Sports Club, a Nautical School or a Marine Sports Organization.

GRADE 30

A boat operator in coastal waters. He is permitted to operate launches of any output, excluding passenger-carrying launches.

GRADE 40

A fare-paying passenger-boat operator. He is permitted to carry up to 55 passengers on a coastal-water voyage and up to 12 passenger and 3 crew-members on an international voyage, a total of 15 persons, provided that he has a grade 60 certificate. He is also permitted to operate launches of any output, including passenger-carrying launches. He has to be able to speak and understand Hebrew.

GRADE 50

A small tug-boat operator in coastal water voyages. This tug-boat’s motor output should not exceed 370 kilowatt (approximately 500 horse-power). He is permitted to operate launches of any output, excluding passenger-carrying launches.

GRADE 60

A boat operator for international voyages (outside coastal waters).
